Royal fans notice bizarre detail in George, Charlotte and Louis's Christmas photo

Royal fans have been left baffled after spotting a strange sight in a Christmas picture featuring Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The monochromatic picture, which was released today, is the second festive image to be released by The Prince and Princess of Wales.

Earlier this month, the royal couple released a black and white picture of the whole family, whilst King Charles and Queen Camilla chose a photo from the Coronation.

The picture shows Charlotte sitting between her two brothers with her arms around both of them.

George and Charlotte are looking straight into the camera while Louis appears to be up to his usual antics and staring off to the side.

In the newly released picture, the three royal children are all wearing white shirts.

The two boys wear black bottoms, with George opting for trousers and Louis, a pair of shorts.

Meanwhile, Charlotte has paired the smart shirt with some denim jeans.

The children smile at one another as they pose for the photo whilst sitting on a wooden bench.

The family photo was captured by Yorkshire-born photographer Josh Shinner whose previous sitters include Florence Pugh, Jodie Comer and Sam Smith.

The charming photo was shared on social media today by The Prince and Princess of Wales, with the caption: "Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, from our family to yours! W & C."

However, eagle-eyed royal watchers spotted a bizarre outfit detail involving Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The two youngest children appear to be wearing shoes without laces.

When the original Christmas card featuring the whole family was posted on December 9, perceptive fans pointed out the obscure detail.

One royal fan commented: “Why have Charlotte and Louis had their shoe laces taken from them?”

Another jokingly quipped: “Unfortunate situation that members of the Royal Family can't afford shoe laces…”

One more added: “My father messaged our group chat to enquire as to why they’ve taken Princess Charlotte’s shoelaces.”
