Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson will likely stay behind at Royal Lodge this weekend following recent reports.

The Duke and Duchess of York, who divorced in 1996, will likely keep their distance at this week's Easter Sunday service, especially as they were absent during last year's Christmas service.

Reports of the Duke being linked to an alleged Chinese spy had created further embarrassment for the Royal Family.

Prince Andrew was said to have decided to pull out of the festive occasion after speaking to his ex-wife and close friend, the Duchess of York.

It was understood Andrew wanted to "honourably withdraw" from Royal Family events at Christmas to avoid being a distraction.

Therefore, it is likely the Yorks will follow suit this weekend and recuse themselves from the royal Easter celebrations.

GB News has contacted the Duke of York's representatives for comment.

Earlier today, it was claimed that Princess Kate, 43, and Prince William, 42, would not attend this weekend's Easter Sunday service.

Instead, the Prince and Princess of Wales will stay at Anmer Hall in Norfolk with Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

Kensington Palace declined to comment on these reports when approached by GB News.

Despite being separated for several decades, Andrew and Fergie continue to cohabitate at the Duke's Windsor residence, Royal Lodge.

The Duke signed a 75-year lease for the Crown Estate property in 2003, and has previously expressed support for leaving the home to his daughters, Princess Beatrice, 36, and Princess Eugenie, 35.

The property has been under visible decline in previous years ever since Prince Andrew stepped down as a working royal.

The Duke has been described as a recluse figure at the Windsor home, although he is occasionally photographed horse-riding.

King Charles was understood to be keen for his younger brother to vacate the property and move to a smaller, less expensive home.

However, Prince Andrew secured the funds from an undisclosed source last year to remain living at Royal Lodge.
