The Duke of York has 'ceased all contact' with the individual, known only as H6

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield has warned that Prince Andrew is becoming a "liability" to both the monarchy and the British Government, amid concerns over potential espionage connections.

Speaking to GB News, Schofield declared the situation "a major headache for the King".

The royal expert emphasised that Prince Andrew "continues to be a liability to the monarchy, but potentially now to the Government".

Breaking his silence on the allegations, representatives for the duke said he has "followed advice from HMG and ceased all contact with the individual after concerns were raised".

They added: "The duke met the individual through official channels, with nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed. He is unable to comment further on matters relating to national security."

According to Schofield, there may be serious consequences for Prince Andrew's position within the Royal Family.

She claimed: "Under extreme circumstances, Prince Andrew's title as the Duke of York could be removed by an Act of Parliament.

"This is the newest addition that I think is rocking the royal-watching community, and maybe that is the next step here."

Schofield emphasised that if there are genuine concerns about potential espionage connections, the Palace must prioritise transparency.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"As far as the Palace is concerned, they should maintain transparency with the public, reaffirming that the monarchy values accountability and integrity," she told GB News.

Noting the relationship between Andrew and his brother King Charles, Schofield suggested that the monarch had "made a promise" to their late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, to "look after" the duke.

Schofield explained: "I think that the King made a promise to the late Queen Elizabeth that he would take care of his brother.

"I think that the King is an honourable man, and I don't think that he has any intention to break that promise to Queen Elizabeth. The King has been put in a tough position after a very rough year."

Criticising Andrew's character, Schofield warned that the royal's actions could potentially "jeopardise the future of the monarchy" following a "tough year" for the Royal Family.

Schofield concluded: "He's had no accountability for most of his life. He hasn't been humbled for most of his life. I think that he's driven by his own ego and entitlement.

"Perhaps he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he does need to settle down because he's jeopardising the future of the monarchy, a monarchy that is very fragile right now due to health concerns."
