Prince Andrew is being braced for "bad news" as the Duke of York is facing a third film about the Jeffrey Epstein allegations, sources have claimed.

The new film will explore Andrew's "character arc" from fighting in the Falklands War to the scandal over his close friendship with a late convicted sex offender.

Sandpaper Films will produce the film, known for working with Netflix, Apple and Amazon.

The production company has already made films about the Royal Family, including Diana, 7 days, which featured interviews with Prince William and Prince Harry.

Producers are said to be keen to approach Prince Andrew's former private secretary Alistair Watson, who worked for the duke between 2003 and 2012.

This would mean "bad news" for the duke, sources told The Mail.

Watson was hired to support Andrew as UK trade envoy, where he represented the government worldwide after leaving the Royal Navy in 2001.

Prince Andrew quit the role in 2011 after it became known he visited Epstein at his home in New York after he was released from jail.

Royal author Andrew Lownie is understood to be acting as a consultant for the documentary. He is also currently writing a biography about the Duke and Duchess of York.

It is understood the new documentary will not be "sensationalist", nor focus solely on the duke's infamous Newsnight interview in 2019.

The Palace is already braced for two upcoming television dramas that will recreate the BBC interview.

Netflix's film Scoop, which stars Gillian Anderson as Emily Maitlis and Rufus Sewell as Prince Andrew, finished filming last year.

In addition, Amazon Prime's A Very Royal Scandal is expected to hit screens soon.

Prince Andrew stepped down as a working royal in 2019 after discussing his links with Epstein during his Newsnight interview with Maitlis.

The duke also discussed the US civil case he was embroiled with at the time, where he was accused by Virginia Giuffre of sexually abusing her on three occasions when she was 17 years old.

The Duke of York stressed that he had no recollection of ever meeting Giuffre, and has repeatedly denied the allegations.

In February 2022, Giuffre and the prince reached an out-of-court settlement for an undisclosed amount, including no admission of guilt on the claims against the Duke of York.

GB News has approached Prince Andrew's representatives for comment.
