King Charles has been branded "incredibly insensitive" by a former girlfriend of Prince Andrew, over an attempt to evict the Duke of York from his home Royal Lodge.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, Lady Victoria Hervey, who briefly dated Andrew in 1999, criticised the King's reported attempt to get his brother out of the royal residence.
In August 2021, the Duke of York was accused in a US civil case of sexually abusing Virginia Giuffre, on three occasions when she was 17-years-old.
Just before Andrew prepared to face his civil case in January 2022, the late Queen stripped him of his honorary military affiliations and patronages, saying he had to defend himself as a private citizen.
Giuffre and the duke reached an out-of-court settlement for an undisclosed amount, including no admission of guilt on the claims against Prince Andrew, in February 2022.
Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, Prince Andrew's lease of the Royal Lodge was reviewed by King Charles III.
The late Queen Mother lived in Royal Lodge for many decades before the Duke of York and his family moved there in 2003.
It is currently undergoing building renovations, including a new roof, and Andrew was said to have been hesitant to leave over fears he "might never get back in".

Lady Victoria Hervey has been a longtime defender of the Duke of York's innocence, speaking frequently to the media about her loyalty to the prince.
Hervey told GB News she "could not understand" why the Royal Family would do attempt to evict the prince.
She said: "It was incredibly insensitive after being falsely accused, having just lost his mother and then being threatened of losing his home.
"I cannot understand how the institution could do this."
Hervey and Andrew dated briefly in 1999.

It is understood that Andrew had the option of moving into Frogmore Cottage while the renovations took place.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle used to live in Frogmore Cottage as working royals but had to vacate the home earlier this year.
In 2003, Andrew signed a 75-year lease for Royal Lodge, which he rents for £250 a week.
The duke still lives there with his wife, Sarah, Duchess of York, despite them divorcing in 1996.

In June earlier this year, the Duchess announced she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and following the news it was reported that the King had changed his mind about pushing to evict Andrew from the Royal Lodge.
In November 2019, Andrew stepped down from royal duties for the "foreseeable future", after his disastrous Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis, where he stressed he had no recollection of ever meeting Giuffre.
