Prince Andrew will be forced to take action if the disgraced duke wants to remain in Royal Lodge, a property expert has exclusively told GB News.

The Duke of York has faced pressure from his brother, with the King suggesting the former working royal to downsize to Frogmore cottage in a bid to cut crown costs.

King Charles reportedly cut the dukes security and £1million annual allowance in 2024, which Andrew has relied on since stepping back as a working royal in 2019, but has seen found legitimate funding.

A property expert from We Buy Any Home explained to GB News that although the Duke of York has found legitimate funding to stay at Royal Lodge, issues surrounding the upkeep of the Windsor property are "intensifying".

Terry Fisher said: "While Prince Andrew may not be forced out of Royal Lodge immediately, the pressure on him to resolve the ongoing issues surrounding the property is intensifying.”

“His position at the estate is becoming increasingly precarious, particularly if he continues to delay essential renovations."

Prince Andrew has not been seen with his brother since the King's coronation on May 6, 2023.

The Duke of York, who resides in the property with Sarah Ferguson, signed a 75-year lease on Royal Lodge in August 2003.

Fisher noted: “Under the terms of his lease, he is fully responsible for maintaining the property, but with King Charles having withdrawn his financial support, the burden of covering these costs falls solely on him.

“If he fails to act, the consequences could be significant."

The disgraced duke has been widely unpopular with the public since he discussed his friendship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein in a BBC Newsnight interview.

His popularity also took a hit following his links with an alleged 'spy', which surfaced in 2024, leading the royal to withdraw from Christmas celebrations at Sandringham estate.

Fisher said: “The Crown Estate has the authority to intervene if the property is deemed to have fallen into disrepair, which could lead to Andrew being legally challenged over his right to remain.

“At the same time, royal and financial pressures continue to mount, with reports suggesting that King Charles is keen for him to vacate the Lodge.

“If Andrew does not take decisive action to secure the necessary funding and complete critical repairs, it is entirely possible that this will be his final birthday at Royal Lodge.

“The next year could prove decisive in determining whether he manages to hold on to the residence or is ultimately forced to leave, either by legal intervention or sheer financial strain."
