The Duke of York has been linked to an alleged Chinese spy
Prince Andrew should spend Christmas away from King Charles at Sandringham following the Chinese spy scandal, a royal expert has suggested.
The Duke of York is set to join the rest of the Royal Family during the festive season at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
He is expected to join the family's Christmas day walk to St Mary Magdalene Church, which he has done for the last two years since the late Queen Elizabeth's death.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond suggests the duke's attendance alongside the family is now in doubt.

She told the Mirror: “It’s hard to imagine the duke will have the gall to parade himself before the loyal crowds at Christmas.
“For the sake of the monarchy, he should spend it away from Sandringham, out of the public eye.
“The monarch’s brother has become a recurring embarrassment to the Royal Family and now he’s involved in a possible threat to national security.”
Prince Andrew, who denies any wrongdoing, has been linked to an alleged Chinese spy whom immigration judges found to have gained an “unusual degree of trust from a senior member of the Royal Family following an MI5 investigation.
The Duke of York reportedly invited the Chinese businessman, known only as H6, to Buckingham Palace twice, St James’s Palace and Windsor Castle.
In addition, the 50-year-old joined Andrew at Royal Lodge for his 60th Birthday and reportedly was able to sneak people in and out of the Windsor property.
King Charles has reportedly been briefed about his brother's links to the alleged spy, with royal biographer Andrew Lownie calling the latest revelations “highly damaging for the whole Royal Family”.
The Royal Family has already taken steps to distance themselves from the duke following his infamous 2019 Newsnight interview in which he discussed his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffery Epstein.
