It follows Rory McIlroy's winning the 89th Masters at Augusta National

Mike Tindall has shared a post of a 2019 picture, posted by a good friend, following Rory McIlroy's historic US Masters win.

The royal included as a collaborator on joint post with fellow rugby star Bryan Habana, reminiscing on a 2019 meeting with the Northern Irishman and Tiger Woods.


It follows McIlroy's winning the 89th Masters at Augusta National on Sunday evening, becoming only the sixth male golfer to complete the career Grand Slam.

The post, written by Habana, said the golfer kept them on the edge of their seats during the final round.

He wrote: "Felt like I was shouting as loud as this on my couch last night!!!

"Feels apt to dig these out of the archives hey @mike_tindall12 @brianodriscoll @justinmarshallnz9 @tigerwoods!!

"What a way to keep us on the edge of our seats @rorymcilroy and to make history!"

Mike, who regularly posts videos of himself playing golf, was pictured taking part in the "The Challenge: Japan Skins" 2019 event, where he played alongside Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and other golfing stars.

Mike was partnered with Tiger Woods, while Irish international rugby player Brian O'Driscoll was paired with Rory McIlroy.

The event involved a skins format with four professional golfers and four rugby legends.

Mike's joint post came alongside a message from the King and Queen, who have recently returned to the UK following a four-day state visit to Italy.

They issued a message congratulating the golfer on their official Instagram.

The statement read: "Congratulations @rorymcilroy on your historic win at @themasters."

Over the weekend, Mike and Zara attended events at the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix, which took place hours before McIlroy teed off to begin his final round.

The royal pair were seen spending time with Zara's cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
