The pair spent Christmas in the UK with King Charles and other senior members of the working Royal Family at Sandringham Estate.

Mike Tindall has kicked off his Australian trip with an energetic karaoke performance, belting out Lady Gaga's hit song 'Shallow' at a Magic Millions event on the Gold Coast.

The former rugby star, 46, shared glimpses of his performance on Instagram, where he was joined by Nicole Slater, wife of Australian rugby league legend Billy Slater.

Footage showed Tindall enthusiastically singing the emotional ballad from 'A Star Is Born', with lyrics projected behind him on stage.

"What a start to @magicmillions!!" Tindall wrote on social media. "Karaoke #Twighlight racing, @pacificair polo. Big week ahead starting with the iconic race down the beach Tuesday morning. Can't wait!!!"

The performance marks the beginning of Tindall's packed schedule at the prestigious racing event, which he attends annually with his wife Zara.

The Tindall's serve as brand ambassadors for Magic Millions, a racehorse auction house, reportedly earning £125,000 annually for their partnership.

The couple, who have been married for 13 years, make the journey to Australia each year as part of their promotional duties for the races.

Unlike working royals, Zara and Mike don't receive funds from the Sovereign Grant, instead supporting their lifestyle through various brand partnerships.

Zara was dressed in a plum-coloured long coat as she walked hand in hand with her six-year-old daughter Lena Tindall, whilst her niece Isla Phillips accompanied them.

The couple's elder daughter Mia Tindall, 11, followed behind with her father Mike, walking in procession with Prince William, Kate and their children for the Christmas Day walk, before heading Down Under for this year's event.

During their 10-day equestrian carnival stay, Zara will showcase her polo skills while Mike, known for his weekly podcast with James Haskell and Alex Payne, will provide commentary at the event.

Zara's connection to Magic Millions dates back to 2012 when she became its first Racing Women Ambassador following her Olympic silver medal success in London.

The event, held in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, features seven days of auctions culminating in a major race meeting.

All horses competing must have been purchased at previous Magic Millions auctions.

The couple's Australian trip follows their recent family day at the races.
