Meghan Markle made an "unpaid" gesture of support that went unnoticed during her latest outing, according to sources.
The Duchess of Sussex promoted a new make-up range by her friend, Victoria Jackson, who lives in Montecito near Prince Harry and Meghan.
Jackson has just relaunched her iconic 1980s cosmetics brand, "No Makeup Makeup".
Meghan wore Jackson's makeup products at the ESPY Awards, where Prince Harry was the controversial recipient of the Pat Tillman Award.
The award is given to those who exemplify a willingness to serve.
However, Pat's mother Mary Tillman labelled Harry a "divisive" choice on the part of ESPN.
Meghan's makeup artist, Daniel Martin, who also performed the duchess's wedding makeup in 2018, took to social media with the royal's makeup look following the ESPY Awards.
Jackson took a screenshot of Martin's post, and captioned the picture: "You look stunning, Meghan!
"Thank you @danielmartin so much for your support with No Makeup Makeup’s red carpet debut! Xo Victoria."
Sources close to the duchess told The Mail she plugged the makeup purely out of friendship, and that no money was involved.
They said: "She and Victoria have been friends for years.
"She loves the product, and this wasn’t a paid promotion."

Jackson, 68, allowed Meghan to use her home for a photo shoot with The Cut Magazine in 2022 and is one of the key members of the former Suits actress’s inner circle.
The pair were introduced by feminist icon Gloria Steinem.
Meghan celebrated her 41st birthday at Jackson’s ranch in Santa Barbara, near Montecito.
The duchess is set to launch her own lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, later this year.
