The Royal Family are postponing royal duties ahead of the upcoming General Election
Meghan Markle is delighted by the “great timing” to promote her new brand after a “serious worry,” according to a royal author.
Last week, Buckingham Palace announced that the Royal Family would be postponing engagements which may “divert attention or distract” from the upcoming General Election.
Royal author, Tom Quinn said that this is the moment that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been waiting for to “promote the Sussex royal brand.”
Quinn said: “The British public will miss seeing and hearing about the royal family as they go into pre-Election shutdown mode so what could be more natural than turning their attention to the rebel royals.

“Megan and Harry will love the extra attention and not just because it will be one in the eye for the royal family.
"Far more important, at least from Meghan’s point of view, the temporary absence of the senior royals is a chance to promote the Sussex royal brand.”
The Duchess of Sussex launched her brand American Riviera Orchard in March this year, however, Quinn believes that Meghan is “seriously worried” about the brand after the launch of her new jam.
Quinn continued: “It’s great timing for Meghan who is seriously worried the hoots of derision that greeted the recent launch of her luxury jam will damage the future of her weirdly named online brand, American Riviera Orchard.
“She has gone into damage limitation mode and will seize this current opportunity with both hands.”
The duchess has ‘soft-launched’ her brand with a new Instagram page and website with the brand’s logo and a bio saying “by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.”
Meghan also sent her first product of strawberry jam to 50 influencers to taste test who shared the product with their followers online.
The strawberry jam is thought to be the first of a wide range of items that the duchess will sell through her brand including household goods, cookware, pet products and gardening tools.
