Meghan Markle will not appear in the upcoming Suits reboot, despite writers creating a "perfect role" for her.
Last month, it was confirmed the spin-off series Suits: LA was in the works, four years after the original show came to an end.
Immediately there was speculation about whether or not the Duchess of Sussex would be involved.
Sources close to the new show confirmed to The Daily Mail that Meghan, 42, has no plans to act in the series.

Meghan played paralegal Rachel Zane in the original show, which premiered in 2011 and came to an end in 2019.
However, she left the show in 2017 after her romance with Prince Harry began.
Suits became the most streamed show in the US for 12 weeks on Netflix in 2023.
Last month, it was confirmed that a spinoff series was in development at NBCUniversal.
Suits creator Aaron Korsh has returned to develop the new show, serving as writer and executive producer.
The show, Suits: LA, will be the same as the original, but will feature new characters and take place in Los Angeles rather than New York City.
Korsh has created a character, named Erica, who appears tailor-made to be played by Meghan.
Erica is an African-American career-focused Californian girl in her 30s who is described as "smarter than everyone".

Meghan reacted to Suits' popularity at the end of last year, telling Variety that she had "no idea" what prompted it but added: "Good shows are everlasting.
"It's hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days. So that could have something to do with it."
Many of the original Suits stars reunited at the Golden Globes earlier in January, including Patrick, Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty, and Gabriel Macht, but Meghan was absent.
Torres, who attended Meghan's wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in 2018, admitted: "We don’t have her number. We just don’t." She added that the rest of the cast kept in touch via a WhatsApp group.
