The Duchess of Sussex launched her @meghan profile on New Year's Day

The Duchess of Sussex actively documented the 2025 Invictus Games through her Instagram stories, offering royal fans an intimate look at the winter sporting event in Canada.

Meghan, 43, who launched her @meghan profile on New Year's Day, shared regular updates from Vancouver and Whistler during the Games.

The event, founded by Prince Harry in 2014, marks the first-ever winter edition of the Invictus Games.

Though the Duchess returned to the US midway through the competition, she continued to keep her 1.7 million followers updated with regular social media posts.

Edward Coram James, CEO of Go Up, offered exclusive insight to GB News about the Duchess's calculated social media approach.

"The choice of Invictus Games as the primary focus seems deliberate. It's a bulletproof cause," he said.

James noted that even Meghan's strongest critics would find it difficult to criticise her support of veterans.

"Notice what's missing? Any luxury, any Hollywood glam, any over-curation. This is intentional," he explained.

The social media expert emphasised Meghan's strategic presentation of herself.

"She wants people to see her as relatable, hardworking, and philanthropic," James observed.

He pointed out that every aspect of her content served a purpose: "Everything from the fast-paced posting to the Dolly Parton backing audio seems designed to tell that story."

Viewers noted Meghan's influencer-style approach as she captured moments from the opening ceremony, which featured performances by Katy Perry and Chris Martin.
