Meghan Markle "does not feel welcome in the UK" as the Duchess of Sussex "snubbed" an upcoming visit, a royal commentator has claimed.

Prince Harry is confirmed to be attending the 10-year anniversary service for the Invictus Games at St Paul's Cathedral next month.

However, GB News understands that Meghan, 42, will not be joining her husband for the trip.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield explained that the Duchess of Sussex likely feels "uncomfortable" about the prospect of returning to the UK.

She said: "Meghan tells friends that she does not feel welcome or comfortable in the UK.

"I know that their popularity has seen a severe decline in Britain, but I also know that Meghan would be treated with kindness if she opted to attend.

"I am surprised that Meghan would not want to appear alongside Prince Harry to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games."

She continued to tell Fox News: "There will be no senior members of the Royal Family there to support Prince Harry."

Sources close to Meghan confirm the Duchess of Sussex will remain in Montecito with Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two.

Prince Harry will instead return to the UK to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games alone, without his wife and two children.

The Duke of Sussex will then be joined in Nigeria by the Duchess of Sussex, who will not be joining her husband in the UK.

Meghan has not visited the UK since September 2022, when she attended Queen Elizabeth II's funeral alongside her husband.

The duchess did not attend King Charles's Coronation last year, as Prince Archie's fourth birthday fell on the same day.

No other members of the Royal Family have been confirmed to attend the Invictus Games service at St Paul's Cathedral next week.

Neither the Office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex nor Buckingham Palace confirmed any plans for Prince Harry to meet his father during the royal's UK trip.

However, both have made clear their willingness to spend time together should their diaries permit.
