Meghan and Harry have launched several public attacks on the Royal Family since they stepped down as working members of the monarchy

Meghan Markle does not want any more rifts with the Royal Family as the Sussexes look set to end their bitter feud with the Royal Family, according to a source.

The Duchess of Sussex is said to want to build a close relationship between her children and King Charles.

The source claims Meghan wants Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to know King Charles as they will not have a relationship with her estranged father Thomas Markle.

They said: "Meghan doesn’t want any more rifts.

"She wants her children to know their grandfather, Charles, particularly when they are not going to know their other grandfather.

"She does hope they will meet and hopes her decision will be seen as an unselfish one, as it was best to keep the attention on His Majesty."

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have launched several public attacks on the Royal Family since they stepped down as working members of the monarchy in 2020.

The latest set of digs at the Royal Family were made in Prince Harry's bombshell autobiography Spare, which was released in January 2023.

It comes as a royal author claims the Sussexes' relationship with the monarchy had deteriorated so much that Kate found participating in a walkabout with Meghan and Harry "one of the hardest things she has had to do".

Kate, Prince William, Prince Harry and Meghan spoke with members of the public together during the walkabout following the Queen's death.

In his new book titled Our King Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed, Jobson claims sources told him that while the royals looked united on the day, it was not the case.

The royal author said that according to sources, the image of unity was an “illusion”.

He wrote: "Catherine later admitted to a senior royal that, such was the ill feeling between the two couples, the joint walkabout was one of the hardest things she’d ever had to do."

Jobson also said that Kate has been "eaten up" by a decision Charles made as his mother Queen Elizabeth II was dying in September 2022.

The royal author claims that Charles asked Prince William not to bring Kate with him to see the Queen so that it would be fairer for Meghan Markle when she was also asked not to attend.

He wrote: "Kate deliberately stayed away but she desperately wanted to be there with the Queen in her last moments.

"That’s eaten Kate up and has built up resentment towards Meghan."
