The heartwarming moment took place at the Whistler Sliding Centre

Meghan Markle shared a heartwarming moment with a British family at the Whistler Sliding Centre during the 2025 Invictus Games skeleton competition.

The Duchess of Sussex was spotted engaging in conversation with the Evans family from Lincoln at the event, where hundreds of spectators gathered despite temperatures of -9C.

The royal paid particular attention to the family's two young sons, 12-year-old Benjamin and six-year-old Sebastian, whilst their father Mike competed in the skeleton event.

Rachel Evans, the children's mother, revealed the charming details of their interaction with the Duchess of Sussex.

"The boys were talking to Meghan about how they went on a tube ride (snow tubing) and got stuck," she told the Mirror.

The conversation took place as spectators gathered to watch the skeleton competition, with the Evans children eagerly sharing their winter adventure story with Meghan.

The encounter marked a reunion for the Evans family and the Sussexes, who had previously met at the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf in 2023.

Mike Evans, competing in the skeleton event, was supported by his family amongst the hundreds of spectators at the Whistler venue.

The competition forms part of Prince Harry's latest Invictus Games, which has drawn thousands to the picturesque ski resort north of Vancouver.

The Games showcase what Prince Harry describes as "the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and demonstrate life beyond disability".

At the opening ceremony of the Games, which began on February 8, Prince Harry delivered a powerful message about the participants' impact.

"At this moment when there is no shortage of crises, no absence of uncertainty, no lack of weak moral character in the world, the values you embody—the way you carry yourselves—not only at the Invictus Games but each and every day... your courage, your resilience, your humanity... illuminate a path forward for us all," the Duke of Sussex said.

Canadian singer Michael Bublé introduced Harry at the ceremony, performing "Feeling Good" before welcoming his "friend" to the stage.

Meghan shared a sweet moment with the singer backstage when Bublé teasingly asked if she was going to sing.

The Duke and Duchess are expected to spend a further five days in Whistler before heading back to the US.
