Scobie gained prominence through his coverage of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex

Royal biographer Omid Scobie's publishing company has been dissolved following a compulsory strike-off notice issued in December 2024.

Meyou Ltd, established by Scobie in 2016 and where he served as sole director, has ceased operations according to Companies House records.

The dissolution means the company no longer has a legal owner, with its bank account frozen and assets transferred to the Crown.

The most recent filing history on Companies House, dated February 18, 2025, confirms the company was 'dissolved via compulsory strike-off'.

Scobie, who has gained prominence through his coverage of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, founded the company nearly nine years ago.

The dissolution marks the end of Scobie's publishing venture, which had faced multiple regulatory challenges in recent years.

According to Daily Mail's Richard Eden, this was the fourth compulsory strike-off notice issued against MeYou.

The company had previously avoided closure in 2022 by filing three sets of annual accounts in a single day that April.

Eden writes: "I can disclose that the Crown's treasure-chest is not about to swell: the company had just £359 in its coffers when Scobie was troubled to file its accounts."

The latest development follows a pattern of financial challenges for the company, which has repeatedly faced regulatory action.

The dissolution process will see any remaining assets transferred to the Crown, though the reported account balance suggests minimal financial impact.

Scobie is known for co-authoring 'Finding Freedom', a 2020 book about Harry and Meghan's lives.

His most recent book 'Endgame', published in 2023, explored alleged tensions between King Charles and Prince William, as well as the royal family's media relationships.

While Scobie has denied interviewing the Sussexes for 'Endgame', he told the Times: "I have mutual friends with [Meghan], and that definitely helps with getting information and breaking details."

The author has now embarked on a new venture with "Royal Spin", a TV project sold to Universal TV for series development, which coincides with Scobie's relocation from the UK to California

Often referred to as "Meghan's mouthpiece", Scobie has maintained he is not friends with the Duchess of Sussex.
