According to a report from Axios, Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Foundation is helping prepare voters against disinformation as the campaign year rolls on.
On the website, it states: “A bipartisan coalition with support from Hollywood power players and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Archewell Foundation is working to prepare US voters for a possible deepfake onslaught as the campaign year goes into high gear.”
Experts are predicting that both “malicious state actors and domestic political operatives” will use deepfake tech and media manipulation to confuse voters leading up to the election.
Google, Meta and OpenAI have said they will combat deceptive content and Harry and Meghan’s organisation are also “helping brainstorm new content”.

GettySince stepping down as senior royals and moving to the United States, the couple have become actively involved in politics.
During the 2020 election, they released a video urging voters to sign up and reject misinformation.
In the video, Harry asked voters to “reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity.”
Meghan added that the presidential race was the “most important election in our lifetime” and urged Americans to use their votes.

As Harry is a British citizen, he is unable to vote in the US and revealed that he has never voted in the UK as it is tradition for royals to stay out of UK politics.
However, there were rumours that Meghan would move into politics after regularly speaking about social issues during interviews.
The Archewell Foundation also paid almost £90,000 to Michelle Obama’s former press secretary for “strategic support for social impact PR.”
During an online event at the United States of Women and When We All Vote she threw her support behind a campaign begun by Michelle Obama.

“That’s what this election is all about.”
Meghan has been an activist for much of her life; as a child, she wrote to Procter & Gamble about a sexist advert campaign.
In 2021, she began lobbying for compulsory paid parental leave in the US and started code-calling senators in the US to push the policy.
