Sharon Osbourne spoke with Princess Kate’s uncle about the popularity of the Sussexes in America

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s “moaning” has left Americans fed up, according to Sharon Osbourne

The reality TV star told Kate’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, that the couple’s popularity in LA is “dwindling.”

Both are currently housemates in the Celebrity Big Brother house and in the latest episode, they spoke about the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes’s popularity in the US.

Osborne said: "I think everyone is fed up of their moaning.”

Meghan and Harry stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in 2020 and moved to the US, via a short stay in Canada, to start their new lives.

Osborne explained that “in the beginning they were very well received” because American love the royals, but now the popularity is “dwindling.”

She also commented that there were “some deals that they have done that haven’t worked well.”

Before asking Sharon what the “vibe” in America was with the couple, Goldsmith said: "I have the opinion that Harry was really loved, massively loved, and when they were a threesome - Kate, William and Harry - were really comfortable together, loved.

"And then suddenly there's an extra dynamic that comes in, puts a stick in the spokes and creates so much drama that I don't generally think is there, and re-wrote the history and said how unhappy he was, and I just don't think that's fair.”

Meghan and Harry sat down for an interview with Oprah in 2021 and released a Netflix documentary in 2022 where they spoke out against the Royal Family.

The couple also had a £15 million deal with Spotify which was axed after one series in June 2023.

Osborne said: “They had their podcast and then the guy that signed them said that they were grifters.”

Osborne also briefly spoke of King Charles during the conversation saying: “I adore him and I adore Camilla.”

It comes as a royal commentator has claimed that the duke and duchess’s “moaning” threw off Americans when they moved to the US.

Angela Levin, royal author and commentator said: “I think endless moaning puts off Americans because they like people who are go-getters rather than those who blame everyone else.

"They also don't like the attacks on the Royal Family especially as they so loved and admired the Queen."

The couple’s media productions led South Park creators to mock Harry and Meghan in an episode titled World Privacy Tour.

In the episode, Harry and Meghan attend an interview with Good Morning Canada holding “we want out privacy,” and “stop looking at us” signs.

Levin said: “Nor do [Americans] like their hypocrisy as seen in South Park - they say they want privacy but they keep appearing at Z-Level awards just to get their pictures.

"By wanting revenge they have thrown their changes down the drain. With no coming back."
