Owens believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s reputation in the US has suffered

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should move to Canada to save the ailing reputation of the Sussex brand, Candace Owens has claimed.

The Daily Wire host believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s reputation in the US has suffered since their staggering move across the pond in 2020.

Now the couple should head across the northern border to Canada in a move that would be “the only way” to halt their PR woes, according to Owens.

She told GB News that the American public no longer care about what the couple are up to, arguing that heightened media exposure has only served to water down their persona.

Asked by Patrick Christys whether the couple should return to the UK, she said: “I’m a big believer that this issue can only be solved if they agree to move to Canada.

“I don’t think that either America or the UK should have to put up with this any longer.

“There’s no question that their stock has degraded very quickly over time. You know, the press was very favourable to them when they first made the move, ad I think that can largely be contributed to what was going on politically at that moment.

“It was the rise of Black Lives Matter, Meghan was very happy to use that to her advantage.”

The couple are already very familiar with Canada, having moved to Vancouver briefly in 2019 when they split from the Royal Family.

They stayed on Vancouver Island at a £14m home in North Saanich, British Colombia.

Months later, the couple relocated to Montecito in California, where they have remained since.

Their time in the US has seen the couple attempt to make their own way financially having taken the burden off the British taxpayer when they opted to step back from royal duties.

They signed lucrative contracts with Netflix and Spotify in 2020, the latter of which has since been cancelled after they produced just one podcast series.

Harry and Meghan have also unveiled staggering details regarding their time as working royals in memoirs and interviews.

A 2021 chat with Oprah Winfrey saw the couple accuse figures from within the royal household of racism.

Harry has since claimed he and Meghan never accused a member of the family of racism.

Owens claimed people in the US are no longer bothered about stories relating to Harry and Meghan, saying they are “tired” of it.

“We get it, you’re a victim”, she said.

“There is no question that the appetite for Harry and Meghan has completely collapsed over time.

“I can tell that just in my show, and I can tell it just in my reaction to it. When I see a piece of news about them, I’m not inclined to click it anymore.

“When something happens and there’s a story and people say, do you want to cover it? My producer pitched it to me a couple of weeks ago, I said fine.

“The numbers were horrible, people didn’t want to watch it.”
