The attack on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went viral in October

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are in panic mode after the couple were brutally mocked by Family Guy, according to a source.

Last month, the animated cartoon series Family Guy took a swipe at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex over their partnership with Netflix.

The controversial programme's dig at the Sussexes' lucrative deal with the streaming giant went viral.

Sources close to the couple labelled the Family Guy attack "savage" and an "outrageous slur" according to Closer Magazine.

The source said: "Meghan said she won’t be humiliated like this and is desperate for a solution.

"They’re in full panic mode."

The insider added: "What’s hit them hardest and cuts the deepest of all is that it plays up the whole notion they’re self-entitled grifters or spoilt brats."

In the Family Guy episode, cartoon depictions of Meghan and Harry are lying in swimwear beside a pool as a butler approaches.

The butler then hands the Duke of Sussex a pay cheque.

He tells Harry: "Sir, your millions from Netflix for... no-one knows what."

The royal replies: "Put it with the rest of them."

Meghan's phone then buzzes with a notification.

The Duchess of Sussex tells her husband: "Babe, time to do our daily $250,000 sponsored Instagram post for Del Taco."

Harry, while staring off into the distance, responds: "I shouldn't have left the made-up nonsense".

Following the dig going viral, Del Taco posted on X in response to the Family Guy episode: "Harry & Meghan we are still waiting for your post to go up today plz."

However, Family Guy's Del Taco joke did contain a glaring error.

Meghan Markle does not have an Instagram account despite the Family Guy reference to making a sponsored post on the platform.

Harry and Meghan previously shared the Instagram account @SussexRoyal but it was shut down in 2020 after they decided to step down from the Royal Family.
