The pair hopes that the rental will diffuse tensions with Prince William, an insider source claims
Meghan and Harry are looking to “make amends” with Prince William by renting a Kensington Palace apartment.
This comes amid sky-high tensions between the brothers, whose relationship has deteriorated in recent years.
A source told OK! Magazine that by renting the apartment, Harry and Meghan are hoping that tensions can be defused slightly.
“He and Meghan are offering to rent an apartment at Kensington Palace and furnish it themselves. He hopes that will please William and show that they’re serious about coming back," the source said.

However, the source was keen to stress that Harry was wary of becoming a “prisoner of the palace” if he goes ahead with the rental.
The once-close brothers’ relationship was damaged even further when Harry released his memoir Spare earlier this year.
In the book, Harry spoke about an alleged physical altercation between the brothers in which William shoved his younger sibling to the ground.
The 38-year-old also claims that William called Meghan “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”.
The royal couple parted ways with the royal family in 2020.
They then moved to Montecito, California with their two children.
Whilst in the US, they have undertaken several projects including work with their charity organisation Archwell.
The pair’s relationship with the Royal family remains frosty, as they are currently not invited to the year anniversary of the Queen’s death in September.

The couple are due to be in Germany the day after for the Invictus Games, however it is unclear if they will reunite with any of the family during their stay in Europe.
“There hasn’t been any outreach to them”, a source commented.
The pair no longer have a permanent home in the UK, after the King evicted them from Frogmore Cottage earlier this year.
"If they are not included in any of those plans they will find a way to mark the significance in their own way," a source stated.
