Meghan Markle will join Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Canada in February, marking a shift away from the couple's professional separation strategy.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has made the decision following the recent appointment of Three Gate Strategies as the couple's communications team.

The PR firm, led by their former Head of Communications Ashley Hansen, has advised the couple to go in a new direction focusing on joint appearances.

A source told the Express: "There will be a renewed focus on the Sussexes as a couple, as a brand and showcasing them as a couple and family."

The closing event will be the only "adult-only" portion of the games, allowing officials and participants to celebrate after nine days of sporting competition.

The shift towards joint appearances comes as recent solo engagements by the Duke and Duchess have reportedly received lukewarm public response.

The couple is also planning a fundraiser for victims of recent Los Angeles wildfires, demonstrating their continued commitment to humanitarian causes.

"It was important for the Sussexes to appear together at such a worthwhile event," the source said.

The source added that the Invictus Games represents a lasting legacy for the Sussex family: "The Invictus Games is a Sussex initiative and something they want their children to continue once they get older."

The couple has entrusted their PR strategy to Three Gate Strategies, with the source noting: "The Sussexes have decided to step back a little."
