Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been urged to speak out after a race row involving the Royal Family reignited following the release of a new book about the Firm.
Omid Scobie, who co-wrote a book on the Sussexes, sparked controversy after the Dutch translation of Endgame named two royals alleged to have made remarks about Prince Archie’s skin colour.
The couple have been encouraged to openly address the situation after the row threatened to create yet another rift within the Royal Family.
A source told The Telegraph: “For the couple that talked about 'death by a thousand no comments, the silence at this point is deafening.”
Sir Trevor Phillips, the former head of the Commission for Racial Equality, labelled the story “nonsense” and described the comments as a “mark of excitement”.
Ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson also waded in on the row, claiming the comments were “not remotely racist”.
Buckingham Palace is reportedly conducting an internal investigation into who could have seen the letters cited during the section on the race row in Endgame.
Sources close to the Duke and Duchess, who allegedly wrote down the names of the two family members in letters to King Charles, also insisted Meghan “never intended for them to be publicly identified”.

They also stressed that it “was not leaked to Mr Scobie by anyone in her camp”.
Scobie claimed he was “hurt” and “frustrated” by the week’s events.
He added: “It's not for me to apologise because I still want to know what's happened.”
Scobie previously described the situation as a “translation error” and revealed an “investigation” is underway.
