The Duchess of Sussex left Canada after five days

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship is "stronger than ever" as the Californian-based royals put on a united front at the Invictus Games in Canada, marking their first public appearance together since August.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared at the Games together, which Harry founded in 2014, before Meghan departed part to California.

Meghan, 43, shared a heartwarming message to Prince Harry, 40, on Friday as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent Valentine's Day apart.

It comes after five days of affectionate embraces as the couple were spotted holding hands during the opening ceremony on February 8 and even sharing a public kiss.

A source told OK! magazine: "Meghan is clearly doing her best to show to the world that she and Harry are stronger than ever and are a genuinely happy couple."

The biennial event holds special significance for the pair, as it was where they made their first public appearance as a couple in Toronto in 2017.

The couple were seen dining at Vancouver's Vij's restaurant with singer Michael Bublé and his wife Luisana Lopilato following the opening ceremony.

Restaurant owner Vikram Vij revealed the Duchess was "very friendly" and discussed her pregnancy food cravings for Indian cuisine.

The Games continue for nine days, with the Duke of Sussex set to depart from the nation following the closing ceremony on Sunday.

The mother-of-two returned to Montecito on Tuesday - as planned - to be with their children, Archie and Lilibet.

In a romantic message to Harry, Meghan wrote: "Back home taking care of our babies, and missing my Valentine, as he continues on at the Invictus Games, changing lives and reminding all of us of the power of healing and resilience through these incredible veterans and their families.

"Beyond proud of my husband and what he’s created."

Meghan added: "My love, I will eat burgers & fries and fish & chips with you forever. Thank you for you. #lovewins"

The duchess signed off the message with "As ever, M".

Meghan shared a picture of the Californian-based royals kissing after a meal to her social media account.

She later uploaded a Valentine's Day themed video of herself and the couples two children chopping strawberries into love heart shapes.
