Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were "not told the entire truth" by King Charles to avoid a huge feud, a new bombshell book has claimed.
A new royal biography claims that the Duke of Sussex was unaware the Princess of Wales had personally chosen not to travel to Balmoral after the news of the late Queen Elizabeth II's death.
The prince was said to be appeased by the fact Kate was not coming, since he had been furious with his father for asking him to travel to Scotland by himself, leaving Meghan behind.
However, royal biographer Robert Hardman now discloses that the King had not instructed Kate to stay away, which is something Harry was unaware of.

The princess had decided to stay in Adelaide Cottage in Windsor with her three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five.
On September 8, they were going to start at Lambrook School, and the then-Duchess of Cambridge thought they should have one parent to accompany them since William had dashed to Scotland to be with his grandmother.
A royal aide claimed: "It was by luck rather than judgment, but it made it a lot easier to tell Harry that he was coming alone."
Sources also claimed that "like the late Duke of Edinburgh, she [Queen Elizabeth] did not like a queue of family well-wishers flocking to her bedside when ill".

The new revelations are included in the new royal biography, Charles III: New King, New Court, written by Robert Hardman.
Starting today, the book will be serialised in The Mail over the next four days.
It includes never-before-seen documents from the Royal Archives, including information about how the late Queen Elizabeth felt "no pain" during her death.
Even though Harry has a very minor role in the book, Hardman describes how drama was building in the background as the late Queen's life gradually came to an end.

On September 8, Prince Harry's father personally called him when he and his wife Meghan were in the UK to inform them that Queen Elizabeth II's health was worsening.
The Duke of Sussex then texted his older brother, William, to inquire about travel plans, according to his memoir Spare, but he never received a response.
Hardman wrote of this interaction: "Clearly, Prince William did not regard this as the appropriate moment for the intensely difficult conversation he needed to have with his brother."
