A controversial talk show host runs the risk of being shunned by Meghan Markle, it has been claimed.
Over the years in the spotlight, the Duchess of Sussex has slimmed down her friendships into a curated inner circle.
US talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, has received some bad press over the past few years, and her recent resurfacing controversies could lead to her being shunned by Meghan, according to reports.
One of Meghan's most public friendship breakups occurred when her close pal Jessica Mulroney was mired in a white privilege row.
When Meghan first started dating Prince Harry in 2016, the former Suits actress, who was living in Toronto at the time, counted Mulroney among her best friends and even included the stylist's three children in her wedding party.
However, Meghan distanced herself from Mulroney after the Canadian stylist became embroiled in a feud in the wake of the Black Lives Matter riots in 2020.
According to reports in The Mail, this could signal a warning sign for DeGeneres, 66, whose daytime show came to an end in 2022 after allegations about its "toxic" work environment came to light.
Meghan and Harry are friendly with their fellow Montecito citizen and were even seen excitedly cheering at DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi's vow renewals last year.

However, the presenter's recent scandals may muddy the waters. DeGeneres has announced she is "done" with showbusiness once her Netflix special drops.
The comedian is in the midst of her farewell tour, "Ellen's Last Stand... Up", the final shows of which will be filmed for the streaming giant.
She last toured in 2018, four years before her daytime talk show ended.
Onstage in Santa Rosa this month, DeGeneres discussed her exit from the spotlight and joked that she will be cancelled for being "old, gay and mean".

When questioned if she might return to fame sometime in the future, she firmly shut down the possibility.
She said: "This is the last time you're going to see me. After my Netflix special, I'm done."
Meghan's close relationship with DeGeneres is not a secret, with the duchess appearing on the talk show in 2021.
She opened up about her life in California with Harry and their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as well as taking part in a prank where DeGeneres told her what to do and say via a hidden earpiece.
