Some As Ever customers have received full refunds following the mistake

Meghan Markle fans have been left disappointed after ordering her £21.60 ($28) honey from her new As Ever lifestyle brand, only to be told they won't be receiving the products.

The Duchess of Sussex's highly anticipated lifestyle products launched last week and sold out within minutes of going live.

Despite successfully placing orders for the coveted honey, some customers later received emails informing them that the product had already sold out due to overwhelming demand.

Among the products included in the limited-edition drop was wildflower honey with honeycomb priced at £21.60 ($28).

The collection also featured flower sprinkles at £11.60 ($15) and raspberry jam for £10.80 ($14).

According to the As Ever website, the honey was "inspired by Meghan's own appreciation for the art of harvesting this natural delight at her family home in Montecito".

The product description boasted of "earthy and floral notes" and a "glimmering golden hue" to "elevate the everyday".

Fans claimed they received an email from the company explaining: "The excitement created a volume of traffic on the site that even we couldn't have anticipated (with everything selling out in an hour)."

The message continued: "The orders were happening so quickly that the backend of the site didn't have a chance to keep up. The Limited-Edition Honey that you purchased was, unfortunately, already sold out."

It seems that even those lucky enough to have their orders initially confirmed were unable to get their hands on the prized item.

Customers were told they would be receiving full refunds for their honey purchases.

Additionally, the company offered them another As Ever item free of charge.

"We are working on replenishing inventory and will gladly send you an item of your choosing to thank you for your understanding," the email stated.

The notice was accompanied by a personal message from Meghan herself.

Disappointed customers were also promised priority access to future product launches, with Meghan assuring them they would be first to receive items from the next collection.

In her personal message, Meghan wrote: "Dear friend, my goodness, what a whirlwind this week has been! Thank you so much for the support. It really means so much to me."

She expressed regret about the situation, saying: "I was so sorry to hear about what happened with your order, and that due to overselling we are not able to get you the Limited-Edition Honey."

Meghan promised fans they would receive the next item automatically, writing: "No need to order, it will come to you in the mail as a gift from me."
