The Duchess of Sussex will be working with Lemonada Media in her new deal

Meghan Markle has announced a new podcast deal following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's split with Spotify.

The Duchess of Sussex will join the Lemonada team to continue her "love of podcasting."

Meghan and Harry did have a $20million (£15million) deal with Spotify but it collapsed after one series.

Meghan has revealed: "I’m proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting."

On Harry and Meghan's new website, it was announced that the podcast "Archetypes" will be available to stream from Spring, and Lemonada will oversee ad sales and distribution.

Meghan and Harry’s media deal with Spotify was axed prematurely after one season of Meghan’s podcast ‘Archetypes’ and one holiday special.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were branded as "f***ing grifters" by Bill Simmons, Head of Podcast Innovation and Monetisation at Spotify.

The senior executive said: "The f***ing grifters. That's the podcast we should have launched with them."

On Sussex.com, the new podcast is described as "a record-breaking podcast exploring the labels that try to hold women back."

The original "Archetypes" saw over 10 million downloads, and averaged almost a million listens per episode.

Lemonada’s CEO and co-founder, Jessica Cordova Kramer said: "We are beyond honored that Meghan has trusted us to help democratize access to ‘Archetypes,’ and that so many more people around the world will have access to the series soon.

"Meghan’s talent as host, creator and conversationalist is unparalleled and we are thrilled to co-create a new series with her that fosters her approach to creating art that matters."

Harry and Meghan's $20 million Spotify deal was thought to have been terminated without full payment after the couple did not provide enough content to seal the deal.

Meghan has spoken out about her new deal stating: "Being able to support a female-founded company with a roster of thought-provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024.

"Our plan to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast is well in the works."

In Meghan's previous podcast, she spoke with celebrities like Mariah Carey, Mindy Kaling and Pamela Adlon before the series was dropped.
