Meghan Markle was ridiculed on the BBC's Have I Got News For You, with the Duchess of Sussex mocked up wearing a chef's hat whilst cooking jam.

The primetime show, watched by nearly three million viewers on Friday night, featured jokes about her new lifestyle brand As Ever.

Team captain Ian Hislop quipped that her jam "immediately sold out, which I thought was good, unless there is only two jars".

Comedian Phil Wang suggested Meghan was inauthentic, particularly regarding her bee-keeping activities.

"She held each honeycomb like it was covered in s**t", Wang remarked on the show.

Putting on an American accent, he continued: "And she's like: 'I love coming out and getting in touch with nature' but you could see she was about to throw up".

The audience appeared to jeer when jokes were made about her brand.

Prince Harry was not spared from mockery, with the panel discussing the scandal at his charity Sentebale.

Hislop joked that Meghan's empty jam jars would "make a lovely holder for writs from charities that your husband has been involved in".

The panel also ridiculed Meghan's Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan.

They mocked her culinary skills, saying she merely "got out a bag of pretzels and poured them in another bag".

Host Alexander Armstrong also poked fun at Meghan's Instagram claim that lemon tart is a British Mother's Day tradition.

Meghan Markle's show was met with mixed reviews when initially launched.

However, Netflix has since announced that 'With Love, Meghan' will return for a second series, suggesting the streaming giants deemed it successful.
