The Sandringham Agreement was reached five years ago

Meghan Markle has risked breaking her Megxit agreement with the late Queen after a new podcast revealed she is using the title "Her Royal Highness".

The revelation came during a 90-minute chat with cosmetics entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima.

The 43-year-old former royal sent a thank you card signed "With Compliments of H.R.H. The Duchess of Sussex" despite agreeing not to use the title five years ago.

During the podcast, Kern Lima revealed that around a year ago, Meghan sent her a gift box of food with a thank-you card.

"I had a very full house, and all of a sudden I get word that you dropped off this gift basket with ice creams, homemade strawberry sauce to put on top of the ice cream just to see if that helps lighten my load," the cosmetics boss said.

A photo of the present showed the card with the HRH title.

The Sandringham Agreement was reached five years ago when Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties.

As part of this deal, the couple agreed not to use their HRH titles amid concerns they would monetise their royal connections.

This agreement has been brought back into focus following Meghan's use of the title in her correspondence.

It follows another incident where Meghan corrected Mindy Kaling on her cookery show, saying: "It's so funny you keep calling me Markle when you know I'm Sussex now."

Royal author Ingrid Seward commented on the situation, telling the Sun: "I think if her late grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth, were still around, she would be highly offended, as she was very sensitive about that.

"She wouldn't think it was the correct form, and remember she removed the HRH titles from both Diana and Sarah Ferguson.

"The Queen didn't remove HRH but told them not to use it.

"But she isn't here anymore, so maybe Harry and Meghan think they can get away with it."

During the podcast, Meghan addressed speculation about writing a memoir like her husband, Prince Harry.

"Yes, maybe, for sure," she said when asked if she would write another book after her 2021 children's book "The Bench".

"And then, you know, I think people are often curious if I'm going to write a memoir, but I've got a lot more life to live before I'm there."

Relations between Harry and the Royal Family remain strained following the publication of his memoir "Spare".

The royals have reportedly barely spoken to Harry since he revealed private conversations in the book.

The tell-all memoir, which detailed intimate family matters, has created a significant rift that appears to have not yet healed.
