In the second episode, Meghan corrects Kaling when she repeatedly refers to her as "Meghan Markle".
"It's so funny, too, that you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I'm Sussex now," the Duchess points out.
The moment comes during a conversation about children's parties, which transitions into reflections on their childhoods.
Queen Elizabeth bestowed the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex upon the couple for their 2018 wedding.
Meghan explains in the series how motherhood transformed her view of their shared surname.
"You have kids and you go, 'No, I share my name with my children. I didn't know how meaningful that would be to me, but it just means so much to go, this is our family name, our little family name," Meghan said.
In an exclusive interview with People, she elaborated further.
"It's our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn't recognized how meaningful that would be to me until we had children," Meghan revealed.

"I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me," she adds.
The Sussex name is now used by their children, five-year-old Prince Archie and three-year-old Princess Lilibet.
She describes it as a "huge part of our love story" that they "share the name Sussex" as a family unit.
