The duchess has soft launched her lifestyle brand in recent months

Royal commentator Angela Levin has told GB News that King Charles would not seek to upstage his daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle.

The duchess has soft launched her lifestyle brand in recent months, with jam being the flagship product.

The monarch already sells organic jams via The Highgrove Shop and in Waitrose supermarkets through his Duchy Originals line.

It has prompted claims that the pair may be engaged in a petty rivalry over jams.

But according to Levin, the King would never stoop so low.

“Meghan is very upset about her jam jars”, Levin told Nana Akua on GBN America.

“King Charles brought out jam from his place and she supposedly felt he was taking it away from her.

“I don’t think he would dream to do that, to take it away from her. It’s not in his nature.

“Apparently she was keen to have a discussion with the King and it’s alleged that Prince Harry held her back. I don’t believe that bit.

“His Majesty doesn’t have a mobile and you can’t just get through to him. You have to go through aides and when he’s in a particularly bad mood, you can’t even do that.

“You need to book a time, and he will call back.”

Nana waded into the discussion to comment on why she feels the soft launch of Meghan’s lifestyle brand “hasn’t gone well”, and the GBN America star feels it’s down to the timing of its launches.

“Meghan launched one of them during Trooping the Colour”, she said.

“And then she launched the other ones when we had the diagnosis of cancer and things like that. People don’t like that.”

Levin commented: “She does go into victim mode. I think she does feel it’s very unfair on her and she needs to find someone else because it’s not her forever.”

Nana responded by saying that Meghan would argue that she has “had an unfair time with the Royal Family”.

Sales of Charles’s jams are said to have spiked since Meghan’s American Riviera Orchard announced the release of their product.

The duchess has teased more jams in the future with her lifestyle brand.

A line of dog food has also been hinted at.
