Meghan Markle's former best friend shares photo of King Charles on Instagram

The duchess has always insisted that she knew little about the Royal Family when she first met Prince Harry, but it has now come to light that one of her former close friends was very informative.

After meeting on the Toronto entertainment scene, Meghan, 42, and her former best friend Mulroney, 43, became inseparable.

They were so close that Meghan FaceTimed the presenter and stylist right before Prince Harry proposed to her.

Now, Mulroney, who is married to Ben Mulroney, has seized the chance to remind fans that her family is associated with royalty.

She posted a photo of Brian and his wife Mila hosting then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana during an official visit to Ottawa in 1991 on her Instagram story.

In addition, Mulroney's husband Ben had dinner with the late Queen Elizabeth II when he was a child.

In 1987, Brian and Mila hosted the late Queen at a Commonwealth gathering while she was on an official trip to Canada.

Meghan, on the other hand, claimed she had little idea about the royals and "'certainly hadn't Googled" the Duke of Sussex before their first date.

Since Mulroney got embroiled in a social media dispute about "white privilege" in 2020, she lost her prestigious position at Good Morning America (GMA) and was cut off by Canadian TV network CTV.

As a result, the duchess and the 43-year-old have drifted apart.

After Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022, Brian Mulroney was quoted as saying he knew the late monarch "well" and that they had "met often".

He said: "I remember one Sunday night when she was coming to Canada and we planned a small dinner for her.

"She conveyed to her private secretary that the kids should be there as well."
