Meghan Markle has broken a royal rule with a major social media title blunder in her new Instagram account.
The account name is titled "Meghan, Duchess of Sussex" rather than "Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex".
Traditionally the style difference is used by divorced members of the Royal Family after they lose the title.
Despite Meghan and Prince Harry announcing they would step back from working royals in January 2020, the Californian-based pair did not lose their titles and remain the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Prince Harry, who remains fifth-in-line to the British throne, also gave up his military titles.
Sarah Ferguson is referred to as Sarah, Duchess of York as she is no longer the Duchess of the county following her divorce to the Duke of York, Prince Andrew.
Following the pattern, Princess Diana was known after her divorce from Charles as Diana, Princess of Wales, because she was no longer "the" Princess of Wales.
The account name is titled "Meghan, Duchess of Sussex" rather than "Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex"
Meghan Markle, who made her first post on her new Instagram on New Years Day, has shared three posts on the account with the handle @meghan.
The debut reel, which was filmed by Prince Harry, showed the duchess running across a beach dressed in white jeans and a white shirt.
She inscribed “2025” into the sand with her index finger, into the beach located near the Sussexes home in Montecito where the live with their children Archie and Lilibet.
The mother of two has also used the platform to share the first trailer for her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
