Meghan Markle has been criticised for using "manipulative victimhood" in an attempt to win over American supporters, a commentator has claimed as she and Prince Harry build their lives in California.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex dramatically quit their roles as senior royals in January 2020 and after a short stint in Canada, moved to a mansion in Montecito.
The royal couple have since become embroiled in a number of deals with entertainment moguls Netflix and Spotify, as well as penning their own books.
Meghan Markle has written a children's book, The Bench, and Prince Harry released his tell-all memoir Spare in 2023.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Owens told host Nigel Farage: "What I thought was just so disgusting was utilising Princess Diana, someone who was very well loved in America, and pretending that you were speaking for her from the grave, which is something that Meghan Markle did.
"It's sickening and manipulative. And her reasons for doing that was she thought that it would reserve her as untouchable as if any person with a brain believes that what Princess Diana would have wanted was for her two sons not to be speaking."
Owens continued: "Princess Diana would not have wanted her granddaughter Charlotte to be placed in a book for millions of dollars. She 'threw a temper tantrum, upset Meghan and Meghan cried in the heap on the floor'.
Candace Owens says Meghan and Harry's new lifestyle is 'quite pathetic'

"This is what was written in Spare, throwing their niece under the bus. let's just dissolve that illusion that Princess Diana would have been OK with that because she would not have been OK with any of that."
When asked by Nigel if the American supporters will ever "wake up" to the truth about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and think they are "no good", Owens claimed that it is "starting to happen already".
Owens claimed: "The executive over at Spotify pretty much said that they are a bunch of lazy people with bad ideas that feel entitled to money. It's the ultimate entitlement, is what you're taking a look at.
"The reason why it failed is because people want authenticity, and unfortunately they aren't getting that from this couple anymore.
"So they're just going to keep being shuffled from award show to award show, given awards for basically doing absolutely nothing, but acquiescing to a government narrative. It's quite pathetic."
