Meghan Markle has sent a surprise gift to a British presenter, years after a dramatic TV clash made headlines across the world.

The Duchess of Sussex sent a jar of her homemade As Ever jam and a stuffed octopus to British weatherman Alex Beresford.

The jam is from Meghan's recently launched lifestyle brand, and the Duchess has been sending products to selected friends and supporters.

The weatherman, who recently welcomed a baby daughter, shared the thoughtful gifts on social media.

He captioned the picture of the jam: "Can't wait to try this! Thank you so much @meghan..."

To accompany the picture of the octopus, Beresford wrote: "...And for Camille's sweet gift!"

Meghan's gesture comes more than four years after a memorable on-air confrontation that saw Piers Morgan storm off a television set.

Beresford famously defended Meghan against Morgan on Good Morning Britain in 2021.

Meghan and Prince Harry made multiple claims during their Oprah Winfrey interview, which resulted in heavy criticism from Morgan.

Beresford intervened during the broadcast, suggesting Morgan should stop his attacks on the Duchess.

The March 2021 incident on ITV occurred the next day after Meghan and Prince Harry's explosive Oprah interview aired.

Morgan had been vocally critical of Meghan, stating that he didn't believe the Duchess of Sussex's allegations made within the interview.

This prompted Morgan to walk off the set mid-broadcast in what became a viral television moment.

It later emerged that Meghan had contacted ITV directly to complain about Morgan's comments.

Following the incident, Morgan never returned to Good Morning Britain and was subsequently let go from the programme.

The weatherman had previously defended Meghan against criticism and spoken about his experiences of racism.

The stuffed octopus for Beresford's newborn daughter added a personal touch to the gesture.
