Meghan Markle has opened up about her experience with miscarriage in the latest episode of her podcast, "Confessions of a Female Founder".

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, revealed how she had to "learn to detach" after suffering a miscarriage in 2020.

Speaking to American lawyer and politician Reshma Saujani, founder of "Girls Who Code", the Duchess made a rare comment about her loss during the Lemonada Media show released today.

Meghan first disclosed her miscarriage in a New York Times article in 2020 and later in her debut Netflix documentary 'Harry & Meghan'.

She approached the sensitive topic carefully, asking Saujani if she was "comfortable talking about it".

Meghan said: "I've spoken about the miscarriage that we experienced, and I think in some parallel way, you have to learn to detach from the thing that you have so much promise and hope for."

She continued: "And to be able to be ok at a certain point to let something go, something that you planned to love for a long time."

The duchess likened the experience of miscarriage to letting go of a business or stepping down from a company.

Saujani responded to Meghan's candid remarks, saying: "I feel like you're reading my diary, that's really insightful."

She shared her own experience with miscarriages due to auto-immune issues, describing the "scary habit" of receiving devastating news at doctor's appointments.

This isn't the first time Meghan has spoken about health challenges. In her podcast's debut episode, she revealed suffering from postpartum preeclampsia.

The duchess described it as a "huge medical scare" that was "so rare and so scary" whilst still trying to "show up for people".

Elsewhere in the podcast, Meghan commented on her love of parenting her two children.

She said: "I love being a mum so much, it's my favourite thing."

The Duchess revealed she worries about her children even when leaving them briefly in another room, admitting to scrolling through pictures of them "endlessly" when apart.

She shared: "My husband is like, 'My love, can you just give yourself a minute? Why don't you take a bath? Why don't you go workout?' I'm like, 'I know but I just want a cuddle'."
