Lady Louise Windsor's royal promotion would require a "major lifestyle change", a PR expert exclusively told GB News.

The 20-year-old is currently a student at the University of St Andrews, nearing the end of her second year.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh's eldest child has largely grown up outside of the public eye, only appearing at family gatherings like Christmas, Easter and Trooping the Colour.

She also acted as a flower girl during Princess Kate and Prince William's 2011 wedding, when Louise was just seven-years-old.

The Royal Family currently has a shortage of working members, as King Charles and the Princess of Wales have both been diagnosed with cancer.

This has meant Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie have carried out the majority of engagements.

Many commentators have suggested that the King, 75, could enlist new working royals, including his nieces and nephews who do not currently perform royal duties.

Luana Ribeira, a business, PR expert and founder of Dauntless PR spoke exclusively to GB News to explain whether or not Louise and her other cousins could become working royals.

She said: "Most of the disadvantages of becoming working royals would be for Beatrice, Eugenie, Zara and Louise themselves.

"Being a working royal would mean a major lifestyle change for each of them and they each have their own lives and responsibilities.

"Lady Louise Windsor is just 20 and the other three are busy raising young children."

Although Louise is not yet 21, it is unlikely she will take up royal duties after her graduation.

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh previously said: "We try to bring them up with the understanding that they are very likely to have to work for a living."

She continued to tell the Sunday Times Magazine: "Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles.

"They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it's highly unlikely."

Louise and her younger brother James, 16, are styled as Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex.
