King Frederik has ignored any affair rumours and claimed in a new book that his marriage to Queen Mary has reached a "stable point".

Just three days after becoming the monarch, King Frederik surprised royal fans by releasing a new book outlining his vision for the Danish monarchy.

The King, 55, worked with author Jens Andersen to write 'The King's Word', which explores his childhood and his current relationship with his family.

The book, which is already a bestseller in Denmark, discusses Frederik's marriage and his relationship with his late father Prince Henrik, who died in 2018.

King Frederik and Queen Mary met in Sydney in 2000 and later married in 2004. They now have four children, ranging in age between 13 and 18.

In his book, the King wrote: "As previously mentioned, my father was very patriarchal, and he tried to pass that pattern on to his two sons.

"Here, however, I have learned a lot from having a wife who, from time to time, reminds me that of course I am not always right, and that my words are not automatically believed, just because I am the man of the house."

Appearing to shut down affair rumours, Frederik claimed he and Mary have reached a "stable point" in their marriage.

He continued: "I love marriage, my wife, our children and the whole happy base that arises for the people who manage to stay together and persevere."

In November 2023, pictures of Frederick with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova were published in a Spanish magazine.

The publication of the photos caused Casanova to issue a statement denying any romantic relationship between herself and the future King.

In a legal letter posted on Instagram, she slammed the "malicious" rumours suggesting the pair were romantically involved.

Elsewhere in his book, Frederik said Mary is his "partner and wing woman" with whom he has a "super dynamic".

Delving into their roles as King and Queen, Frederik admitted that they "will approach many things differently" from his mother, Queen Margrethe II.

The former monarch announced her abdication on New Year's Eve after reigning for 52 years, and officially stepped down on January 14, 2024.

King Frederik wrote: "Mary and I are children of our time."
