The King and Queen have arrived in Jersey for a two-day visit

King Charles and Queen Camilla braved the rain as they stepped out in Jersey today for their landmark trip.

The poor weather did not deter islanders from turning out to welcome the King and Queen to Jersey for their two-day stay.

Many fans could be seen waving flags in one hand while holding an umbrella in the other.

The royal couple were then driven to St Helier, where they were greeted by a 21-gun salute from People's Park.

Charles, 75, and Camilla, 76, will later travel to the Royal Square for a special sitting of the States and Royal Court.

This visit marks the first time a British monarch has visited the island in 19 years.

The late Queen Elizabeth II visited Jersey in 2005.
