The King stepped out to visit Imperial College London's Centre for Injury Studies to highlight UK support for injured Ukrainian service personnel and explore the connection between research and humanitarian efforts.

The visit, which took place at Imperial's White City Campus, comes as the third anniversary of the Ukraine conflict approaches.

During his visit, His Majesty learned how Imperial applies lessons from previous conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq to support the wounded in Ukraine.

The Centre also demonstrated how the UK can benefit from Ukraine's experience in combat medicine, rehabilitation and conflict-related injuries.

In the laboratory space, His Majesty witnessed demonstrations of combat injury simulations, showing how protective equipment can reduce injury severity.

The King also examined research on prosthetics, including a specialised device for testing the durability of leg prosthetics, before viewing a virtual reality biofeedback technology, which aids rehabilitation for those who have experienced limb loss.

The demonstrations were led by Imperial's Major Trauma Director and the Centre's Director and Associate Director, who explained their armoured protection research to the monarch.

During his visit, Charles also learnt about Unbroken, a rehabilitation facility in Lviv that provides various services for injured Ukrainians.

It comes on the 65th birthday of Prince Andrew, the King's brother, who has kept a low profile since stepping back from public duties in 2019.

The official Royal Family account has not posted a birthday tribute to the disgraced duke.

Other senior members of the family, including The Prince and Princess of Wales, have also not shared a birthday message.

Usually, the official accounts pay tribute to members of the Royal Family when they celebrate a milestone birthday.
