The Duchess of Sussex is yet to launch her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard

King Charles appeared to make a subtle dig at Meghan Markle as the Royal Collection Shop posted a picture that hinted at a rivalry.

The Royal Collection Shop is selling a Palace of Holyroodhouse Dry Gin, which is retailing for £45.

In the photograph advertising the alcoholic spirit, the gin bottle could be seen placed beside two lemons.

Royal fans were quick to spot the similarities between the Royal Family's new picture and Meghan Markle's upcoming lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

The Duchess of Sussex announced her new lifestyle brand earlier this year.

Although she has not officially begun selling any products, Meghan sent 50 jars of homemade strawberry jam to her influencer friends, which they promoted on social media.

Several of the pictures showed the jam placed in a basket surrounded by lemons.

One fan wrote on social media: "We all know lemons go with gin and yet… I sense some rather delicious trolling."

A third said: "Royally trolling," accompanied by a laughing emoji.

A royal watcher posted: "I always think limes with gin but so glad they used lemons."

"The lemons are a nice touch. Love it!" wrote another royal fan.
