The Princess of Wales has not yet confirmed her attendance at this year's Trooping the Colour ceremony

King Charles would be "delighted" to have Princess Kate join the royal celebrations, according to a PR expert, as the monarch's birthday parade looms.

The Princess of Wales, who began a course of preventative chemotherapy earlier this year, has not yet confirmed her attendance at this year's Trooping the Colour ceremony.

Last month, Kensington Palace issued a rare update about Kate ahead of Trooping the Colour.

The princess, 42, will not attend the traditional rehearsal for the parade on June 8, officials confirmed in a rare update as she continues her cancer treatment.

However, Kate's appearance at the official Trooping the Colour ceremony on June 15 continues to hang in the balance.

If she does appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony, this would inevitably take the attention away from King Charles, as it would mark Kate's first official sighting in public in 2024.

Rhea Freeman, a multi-award-winning PR adviser, spoke exclusively to GB News, claiming King Charles would be happy to have Kate join the Royal Family on the balcony.

She said: "If Kate were to appear on the balcony it would definitely dominate the news.

"But from everything I’ve read and seen, I would imagine that the King would be delighted to have her there.

"It would reinforce the strength of the monarchy moving forward, something that has been questioned by some with both the King and Kate’s recent health concerns."

Since announcing her cancer diagnosis earlier this year, Kate has stepped away from public duties as she recuperates in private.

This has meant the Princess of Wales has not performed any official duties so far in 2024.

King Charles, who was also diagnosed with a form of cancer earlier this year, initially stepped back from public duties.

However, the monarch has started to perform royal engagements again, even travelling to France on June 6 to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

It was confirmed last month that the King will attend Trooping the Colour on June 15.

However, he will sit in a horse-drawn carriage beside Queen Camilla, as opposed to riding on horseback.
