The King received Joe Biden at Windsor Castle this afternoon, where the US President was treated to a ceremonial royal welcome.
The President's arrival could be heard as the sound of Marine One thundered over Windsor Castle.
Biden was driven into Windsor Castle via the George IV gate.
King Charles and President Biden retired inside for tea in the Oak Room, the King's private sitting room, after they had inspected the troops.
King Charles and Biden then joined a forum in the Green Drawing Room.
According to the King’s spokesman, Charles and Biden's meeting was a success. They said: "You will have seen for yourselves the personal warmth."
Biden was seen boarding his Marine One helicopter following the conclusion of the meeting.
The US President arrived at Stansted Airport on Sunday evening.
Biden will fly to the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius on the Air Force One today for a two-day Nato summit.
