King Charles has spent a second night at The London Clinic following a successful prostate surgery.

Queen Camilla was seen smiling as she arrived at the private hospital for a third time to visit her husband.

Two police officers stood guard outside the doors of the central London clinic as Camilla appeared with a warm smile on her face.

It is the Queen's third visit to the site since His Majesty arrived on Friday morning ahead of the procedure.

Yesterday, Camilla spent three hours inside the London Clinic, where Princess Kate is being cared for following abdominal surgery.

On Friday, she told people inside the hospital that the King was "doing well" after the procedure.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman previously said the monarch was "admitted to a London hospital for scheduled treatment."

King Charles has also visited his daughter-in-law Kate who has spent her twelfth night in hospital after undergoing a major operation last week.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

It remains unclear how long the King will remain in hospital.

On January 17, while staying at Birkhall, Aberdeenshire, Charles was diagnosed with the benign condition.

The 75-year-old is understood to have wanted to share the news to encourage other men to get themselves checked.

Following the announcement there was a surge in public interest into the condition.

In a statement, the King shared his "delight" over the increase in health awareness.

It said: "His Majesty would like to thank all those who have sent their good wishes over the past week and is delighted to learn that his diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness."

Buckingham Palace’s announcement last week sparked a 1,000 percent surge to the NHS website.

The NHS website’s prostate enlargement page saw more than 11 times the number of visitors than the day before the King’s statement.
