King Charles has issued a message to England and Gareth Southgate following their heartbreaking defeat to Spain.
England suffered a narrow but devastating 2-1 loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday evening.
Gareth Southgate's team conceded a late goal as Spain won their first major title in 12 years.
The result means England have lost back-to-back Euro finals under Southgate.

The King issued a public message to the England manager following the defeat.
The monarch said: "Mr. Gareth Southgate O.B.E.
"Although victory may have eluded you this evening, nevertheless my wife and I join all my family in urging you and your support team to hold your heads high.
"All those who have participated in sporting activities at any level will know how utterly despairing such a result can feel when the prize was so near - and will join me in sending heartfelt sympathy, even as we congratulate Spain.

The Prince of Wales and his eldest son watched on as England battled bravely against a dominant Spanish team.
Despite going a goal down within minutes of the second half, England looked to have found a way back into the game when substitute Cole Palmer equalised with a strike from outside the box.
