Donald Trump could be invited to stay at Balmoral Castle with King Charles during a upcoming state visit to the UK, according to government sources.
The invitation is rumoured to be extended this week when Labour leader Keir Starmer travels to Washington DC to meet with the US President.
A Downing Street source indicated that a formal state visit invitation would be communicated during talks at the Oval Office on Thursday.
A Whitehall insider told The Sun: "He's already been to Windsor and Buckingham Palace, so Balmoral is being talked about."

The Scottish castle, where the monarch traditionally spends his summers, would be a fitting choice given Trump's Scottish heritage.
Only one previous US president, Dwight D. Eisenhower, has stayed at Balmoral, visiting Queen Elizabeth II alongside Prime Minister Harold MacMillan in August 1959.
The source added: "Everyone knows he loves Scotland and it's near his golf course."
The former president has previously been hosted at both Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace during his first presidency.
The potential Balmoral invitation comes as plans are said to be developed for a significant royal engagement with North America.
A insider indicate discussions are underway for King Charles and Queen Camilla to undertake their biggest royal tour yet to America and Canada.
The rumoured tour is expected to take place in the first half of next year, likely in spring, though plans remain subject to the King's ongoing cancer treatment.
A government source described the potential trip as "undoubtedly the biggest tour of the King's reign so far, a huge undertaking for a British monarch to be hosted in the United States."
LATEST ROYAL NEWS:
Trump has made no secret of his fondness for the Royal Family, with reports suggesting he may soon invite the Prince and Princess of Wales to Washington.
"President Trump very much enjoyed meeting Prince William in France," a source told the Mail. "He was wowed by William and thinks he's a great guy."
The pair met at the Notre Dame reopening in Paris last December, where they discussed the importance of UK-US relations.
Buckingham Palace has yet to release any details on potential royal visits, stating there are "no current dates in the diary for Their Majesties to tour either Canada or the USA, or active Palace planning taking place for either option."
