King Charles is “diligently” following his mother’s lesson with his decision to return to royal duties, a royal expert has claimed.
Charles has been receiving care as an outpatient since early February and his public facing royal duty comeback will be a boost for the monarchy.
Speaking on GB News, Nicholas Owen told Stephen Dixon and Ellie Costello that the monarch is following his mother’s lead.
“You’ve got to be seen to be believed”, he said.

“This philosophy went back a lot further than that. I think it was George III, who had a lot of children, they were a bit of a reluctant bunch.
“He got very cross with them and he said, ‘the most important thing about us is we have to be seen, our job is to be out there’.

“That’s gone right through. Her Majesty the Queen took that view. It turns out that after the Queen’s death, she had more bouts of illness than you might have expected in her life.
“But if you looked at her diary and look back at what she’d done, looked at all the films over the years, the TV coverage and so on for endless work, she was so stoic.”
Sources have stressed that despite the positive news the King remains cancer-stricken and his treatment will continue.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “His Majesty is greatly encouraged to be resuming some public-facing duties and very grateful to his medical team for their continued care and expertise.”

Charles and Camilla will visit a cancer treatment centre on Tuesday to meet medical specialists and patients.
They are looking to raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis and champion innovative research into the disease.
The Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “His Majesty’s treatment programme will continue, but doctors are sufficiently pleased with the progress made so far that the King is now able to resume a number of public-facing duties.
“Forthcoming engagements will be adapted where necessary to minimise any risks to His Majesty’s continued recovery.”
Charles will not be carrying out a full summer programme and his attendance at events will be announced nearer the time and “subject to doctors’ advice”.
Warmer weather will allow for more outside events which will give the King a better chance of making appearances, due to the lessened risk posed by other people that many cancer patients face.
A Palace spokesperson said: “The pacing of the King’s programme will be carefully calibrated as his recovery continues, in close consultation with his medical team.”
