King Charles has rubbed shoulders with David Beckham at a glitzy awards ceremony amid the footballer's rumoured "feud" with the Sussexes.
His Majesty, 75, was joined by a host of celebrity ambassadors to mark his star-studded inaugural King’s Foundation Awards.
Charles was also joined at St James’ Palace by close friend Sir Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster, who shared a peck on the cheek with the monarch.
Sir Rod took to the stage saying: "Penny and I are so honoured to be ambassadors for the King Trust."

Lancaster corrected him, adding: "Foundation."
Sir Rod laughed, replying: "B*******! Oh, I probably shouldn’t have said that! I am also wonderfully honoured to be a knight and David, yours is coming soon!"
Beckham could be seen shaking his head and laughing. As the singer went back to the crowd, the former England football captain whispered, still laughing: "Thanks Rod, thanks very much" while wiping his eyes.
The footballer was recently confirmed as an ambassador for the King’s Foundation and met with Charles at Highgrove.

The King looked delighted to see Beckham and greeted him warmly. His Majesty referred to England’s recent 1-0 defeat to Iceland and the forthcoming Euros, chuckling: "It was very bad luck, I must say, David."
Beckham replied: "No, no, I don’t think we should reward too much into that. ‘It doesn’t really matter, does it?"
His Majesty quipped. "It was a warming-up session."
This event comes as King Charles had a private meeting with Beckham last month, after being unable to meet with his younger son Prince Harry during his visit to the UK.

Reports in The Times claimed: "Beckham is understood to have visited Charles to learn more about his charity, the King’s Foundation."
The friendship between the Sussexes and the Beckhams has soured over the last few years.
Previously close, the Beckhams attended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding at Windsor Castle in 2018.
However, David was reportedly left “absolutely furious” after he and wife Victoria were allegedly accused by the Sussexes of leaking stories, with reports suggesting that their relationship was now “over”.
A source told The Mail: “Any making up now is so unlikely.”
